Greater safety around electric vehicle charging stations.

Protection against accidental contact.

Retrofit steel poles.

In the field of electric vehicle charging stations, there are strict electrical safety requirements. The FUCHS touch protection, made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic (GFRP), serves as an insulating sheath for light poles and reduces the risk of dangerous touch voltages.

The non-conductive properties of the fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) jacket protect people from coming into contact with live components and help ensure the safety of people and equipment in the vicinity of modern charging infrastructure.

Durable and cost-effective.

Thanks to its high resistance to weathering and corrosion, the touch protection is suitable for for new installations and the retrofitting of existing light poles. The Its robust construction and low maintenance requirements make it a cost-effective and durable solution for municipalities, energy providers, and operators of charging infrastructure.

Whether for a new installation or retrofitting—with a GRP touch protection sleeve, even existing steel poles of a wide variety of diameters can be customized. The sleeve provides electrical insulation in the area of the pole that is accessible to people, helping to ensure safety in the immediate vicinity of the charging infrastructure. Thanks to the quick and easy installation of the protective covering, existing steel poles can be upgraded in a short amount of time. Whether on a light pole or a parking barrier: With insulation made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic, steel poles achieve non-conductive properties similar to those of a GRP pole.

Product Benefits

The insulated GRP design ensures a noticeable increase in safety around electric charging stations by reliably minimizing the risk of electrical shock. Thanks to its low weight, the system is easy to handle and quick and simple to install. A straightforward on-site measurement process allows for flexible deployment—whether for new installations or retrofitting existing locations.

Thanks to its robust construction and high resistance to weathering and corrosion, the material is ideally suited for long-term outdoor use, making it extremely durable and low-maintenance. As a future-proof addition to modern charging infrastructures, this solution thus offers economic value for municipalities and energy providers.
