Light poles.

Always on the
safe side.

In cities or municipalities: light poles made of GRP reliably bring light into the dark and impress along the entire value chain: low weight and efficient production save CO2 during manufacturing and transportation.

Reliable delivery and simple installation of the streetlight poles ensure planning security, even for time-critical projects.

For light in its
best form.

You are always on the safe side with light pole made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Our EN-40–7 certified poles offer maximum passive safety and therefore meet the requirements of the internationally recognized frangibility regulations. The lightpoles made of this material also have a number of other advantages:

Advantages of GRP light poles

Our light poles made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic are resistant to all environmental influences such as road salt, chemicals or dog urine. Poles made of steel or aluminum can corrode after some time, especially in the ground transition area.

Wind loads or ground vibrations shorten the service life of a luminaire. Unless this effect is mitigated by the high vibration damping of a GRP mast. Luminaires live longer with GRP.

All GRP light poles are manufactured in accordance with EN-40–7. The GRP mast is 60% lighter than a comparable steel mast. At the same time, GRP is characterized by its enormous stability: A wind sensor mast from the German Weather Service withstood a tensile force of up to 1.3 tons in an experiment.

In the event of a minor traffic accident, GRP bends and returns to its original position. In high-impact accidents, the mast breaks instead of deforming a vehicle to the same extent as concrete or metal. Without dangerous flying sparks!

Thanks to the insensitivity of the GRP material to corrosion and weathering, there is no need for costly measures such as re-galvanizing or repainting.

Some of our GRP light poles have been standing for well over 40 years. Replacement is only necessary in the event of serious damage.

We produce in the heart of Bavaria and offer our customers short production and delivery times (6 calendar weeks from receipt of order). Delivery reliability is our core competence.

Our GRP poles can be used in a variety of ways: light, traffic light and guidance systems. Our extensive portfolio also includes level crosing barriers. The poles are available in all RAL colors. We offer two foundation variants: With earth stake for burying or with a base plate.

Aspects that speak in favor of GRP light poles

  • Manufactured from environmentally friendly materials and comparatively low energy consumption

  • Low transportation and installation costs thanks to the low weight

  • High dynamic and mechanical strength – strong against extreme wind loads

  • Non-conductive – fully insulated due to the material properties (lightning protection)

  • Mechanical damage to the mast surface can be repaired

How long does a GRP light pole actually last?

Nobody at FUCHS Europoles can really answer that – because many of the more than 100,000 masts that have left the factory in Neumarkt /OPf. since 1973 are still in service. They are spread all over the world, some of them in regions with very special environmental conditions. You can’t tell how old the GRP masts are. And these all-rounders have a lot to offer in other respects too.

In addition to the short delivery times of six calendar weeks from receipt of order, we score points with our in-house engineering, which makes even complex special solutions possible. Thanks to order-related production, we can realize even the most unusual customer requests.

Extra light, super stable and absolutely insensitive to any form of corrosion: light poles made of GRP are impressive in every area of application. Peter Meier, 1st Mayor of Deining, talks about the light poles and cooperation with FUCHS.

Peter Meier 1. Bürgermeister der Gemeinde Deining

How light poles work today.

The environmental conditions in some regions place special demands on the infrastructure. Our GRP masts are multi-talented and can be used anywhere. We have summarized the advantages of various areas for you here as examples:
