Our FRP poles are that versatile.

Our SchlauFUCHS: Benefits and Applications

Whether at the airport, as street lighting, at an electric vehicle charging station, or as a railroad crossing gate: Our fiberglass-reinforced plastic poles provide reliable service in a wide variety of applications thanks to their properties. Robust, durable, easy to install, weather-resistant, non-conductive, maintenance-free, and simple to set up with just a little muscle power: This is how municipalities and the private sector benefit from reliable product solutions, and this is how we advance our country’s infrastructure in a wide variety of locations. In our “SchlauFUCHS” section, Alexander Buchner, Division Manager at FUCHS Europoles GFK, provides a brief insight.

Optimized to meet demand, ex works

But what makes a GRP mast so special? The answer lies in its manufacturing process, in which GRP masts are formed from cut-to-size fiberglass mats: To do this, we wrap the cut pieces around a rotational mold and spin them. By injecting a synthetic resin during the spinning process, the material solidifies under centrifugal force, resulting in a finished GRP blank once it has fully cured. Whether tapered or with a consistent diameter, in a standard color or custom-colored to a RAL value per the customer’s request: The manufacturing process also allows for a wide range of design options. A 2,000-bar waterjet cutter creates all necessary openings and recesses in the mast.
